Optimise Your Beer Experience
The best way to enjoy a beer is from a glass. But, like all natural products, the preparation is just as important.
Some beers such as our traditional Welsh ales may be best served at room temperature, while many others are definitely best served chilled or cool.None should be served ice cold as all that does is freeze your taste buds which in turn leaves you unable to taste anything – in the unlikely event your “Ice Cold” beer ever had any real taste in the first place!
How your beer is treated also has a dramatic effect on its flavour. We recommend you follow the 4 steps below and you will get the best from your beer.
Store
Keep beer in a dark and cool room – light “smothers the taste”.Cool
The correct temperature will bring your brew to life. At normal refrigerator levels of 7-9c, beer should be kept for several hours before opening and then removed from the fridge 20-30 minutes before consumption. The Glass
It should be grease and soap free. Rinse the glass with cold water before use.The Serve
Always pour beer into the middle of the glass until the foam reaches the edge. Pour once or twice again until the head rests. The only exception is wheat beer which should be slowly poured into a glass tilted diagonally.Being in a conducive environment, be that with company or in a tranquil environment and the correct type of glass are also important. It’s all down to personal preference.
