Suggested Pairings

A Guide from the Brewers

The following is a suggested food pairing for a selection of our craft beers. The pairings have been put together by the breweries themselves. We hope you enjoy them!

Brooklyn Brewery Beers
Brooklyn Lager - best enjoyed with everything from salads to steaks. Brooklyn Lager is at home with pizza, burgers, Mexican food, roasted chicken, barbecue, fried fish, pork, and Chinese dishes.

Brooklyn EIPA - pairs best with spicy foods, especially Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Szechwan, and Mexican dishes. It’s also great with crab cakes and fatty fish. The beer is robust enough to stand up to strong flavors and its citrus flavors mingle wonderfully with those in food. After dinner, the snappy hoppiness perfectly mirrors good aged cheddars.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout – Served in a snifter glass, BCS is excellent with chocolate desserts, cheesecake, fruit tarts and ice cream. It is also a very good accompaniement to strong cheeses especially Stilton.

Local 1 –Enjoy this beer as an aperitif or with your favourite dishes. It is particularly nice with spicy seafood and with fine cheeses.

Hofbrau Brewery Beers
Original – Especially good with roast dishes such as roast pork and chicken.

Weisse – An all rounder – it complements cold meats and warms meats, such as pork, chicken and beef.

77 Lager - Perfect with lighter foods: chicken salads, salmon or a nice hunk of pork.

5AM Saint - One for a BBQ: hearty, spicy, simple. Hamburgers, Lamb and spicy Cajun chicken.
Dessert - Good things we have heard about are Passion Fruit Bread Pudding or Pears.
Cheese - Smoked Mull or a bit of goats’ cheese.

Hardcore IPA - Smoked meats, charred meats - a good one for a harden carnivore. BBQed lamb. Ribs... mmmm
Dessert - Carrot cake with all the icing, creme brulee. Richness and sweetness make the bitterness cleanse the palate.
Cheese - Full on stinky blue cheeses. The madder, the more artisanal, the better. This is Hardcore.

Paradox; Will easily overpower most dishes but stands up to smoked pates and rich fatty dishes like smoked goose.
Dessert - Perfect territory for truffles, mousses and hard-core dark chocolate. Ginger and mint hints work too.
Cheeses - Long aged, hard, full flavoured cheeses such as parmesan and gouda. Or an old cheddar that has lingered too long.
